social insecurity

Talking Point Memo has a chunk of the pay to play online version of the wall street journal. Josh doesn't wan to highlight this, but as a fith rate mind I get to:

"Still, some Republicans are resigned to uniting behind the president, given his determination. "The president is going to go ahead," said Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma, a Republican leadership lieutenant. "He cannot afford to fail. It would have repercussions for the rest of his program, including foreign policy. We can't hand the president a defeat on his major domestic initiative at a time of war."

(Just remember, these are the people who are FIGHTING to roll back your benefits, and deny your children theirs for some semi reformed coke head's ego. Again, where are the journalists? can't anyone construct a simple syllogism anymore?)

There is a new book out about how the world bank is just a front for the limited amount of families who control the natural resources of the planet to exploit 3rd world coiuntrys the excerps I read a eye openning.

WHile we have always had these people running thing the troublesome difference is most of them were brought up with a sense of noblese oblige, they were rapaciious but they had an alteristic side as well.

Since Reagan and his bow tie boys, noblesse oblige is just a quaint concept (like not torturing people). Politically correct drivel not worthy of contemplation by worldly men driven by the harsh reality of wealth accumulation.

And the beauty of oour world has suffered emmensly, no longer are great proje ts being built unless it sucks up natural resources. No longer or art and humanities given more than a passing thought. Religion is reduced to either you believe or you don't.

Money and its accumuation is key. It does not matter that our middle class is shrinking or that our poor are hurting as much as during the depression. That we are chewing up our future by ignoring our schools, and ignoring the institutions that glorify the human spirit.

We live in a Jim Crow world, led by ugly Jim Crow people, who pompously believe that wealth and "success" justifies their crimes and lies.
