next we kill all the blogers

CBS cries havoc and releases the dogs of war on the blogers. It seems we're "unregulated" but have the "same First Amendment protections as newspapers." we must be dangerous. They go on to tar Atrios with the same brush as they tar astroturfing paid for blogers. And they mutter on and on about regulation, and ends on this note:

"Beginning next year, the F.E.C. will institute new rules on the restricted uses of the Internet as it relates to political speech.

“I think those questions are going to have to be asked and answered,” said Lillian BeVier, a First Amendment expert at the University of Virginia. “It’s going to be an issue and it should be an issue.”

(Maybe they should go and read Armed And Dangerous. I predict a lot of denial of service attacks, and more then a few new viri if they try.)

(Or maybe not. They'll probably make it hard on me and easy on the astroturf specialists. They do think they have the mandate...)

Reading the two links gave me a headache.... I find All of these people incomprehensible.
the term 'full of ones self " takes on new meaning.
I would like just one of these fuckers to come out with a vision which included everyone and their views without shiting on someone in the process. I don't think that is impossible.

Thank you to the members of the Pilsen Photo Group +Kenneth for coming to my opening at the University Club last night and to my son John for hauling me up to Chicago.
Your support was much felt.

It is a common misconcepion that publications (whether blogs, newspspapers, tv stations, or whatever) somehow have more First Amendment protection than individuals. They don't.

When they evicted the tire mongers from Maxwell Street, my bus was diverted off Halsted (all buses were.) I got off to watch. The street and sidewalk was closed off. A small crowd watched from outside the enclosure, but a bunch of media people were in the enclosure. I walked into the crowd of media to watch. A cop asked me to leave. I pointed out that other people were allowed inside the enclosure. He said: "But they're the media." I responded: "So what?" He said: "They have rights under the First Amemendnent." I said: "So do I." He disagreed with me but, his Seargent, who intervened just as the Patrolman was about to put cuffs on me, saw the wisdom of my position.

Thge tone oif the article was certainly disturbing. Even though it was getting down on Repubs, for using the internet, big deal. Blogs are public forum should remain that way and should have no constraints on them other than libel laws.

CBS is hated by the right and this article shows why. Yeu have a bunch of talentless imaginationless self impressed jokers who think they have the right to filter the news their mediocre way. Livng of their former glory, they want to keep was left of their franchise.

Screw them Rather is a pompous asshole, the news they report ain't shit, and they believe they are the keeprs of something sacred while making millions of dollars to sell theri journalisitc souls.

Hey ffej you finally got me pissed about a computer problem. What should we do next?
