So there you have it - who will claim space for mankind? Care to start a pool on what date I'll be able to officially purchase my first Big McArmstrong?

Airport security is a farce anyway. It protects no-one. It serves only to make people feel personally threatened, and therefore willing to accept any crazy thing the government wants to do.
It's black propaganda, directed at the electorate.
Why waste any real money on it? Why waste any money at all? Get those people real jobs -- they need them, and deserve them.

excellent idea. lets fire all the over paid TSa staffers and replace them with the minimum wage workers they replaced--and subsidize the security companies again.
why waste real money! let's pay em squat, like we used to!
some of those security companies are going hungry, you know...not much work out there for "contractors."

Oh sure -- make me out to be a Scrooge. That is your pattern. But it's not consistent with what I said, specifically:
"Get those people real jobs -- they need them, and deserve them."
My position is more extreme than yours. Get rid of all the screeners, and get them real jobs. So I'm the one who gets to play "holier than thou" here.
Not you.
